Die neuen Filme im Kino 8.3.2018

Diese Woche habe ich mich mit den Empfehlungen etwas schwergetan. Kein Film scheint mir so richtig der Knaller zu sein.
Weder kann ich mich für den Actionthriller mit Bruce Willis, „DEATH WISH“ (ein Krankenhausarzt nimmt Rache an den Mördern seiner Frau) begeistern, noch für „MOLLY’S GAME“ (eine Weltklasse-Skifahrerin wird wegen eines Unfalls zur Organisatorin von illegalen Poker-Spielen) oder der andere Actionfilm mit Chris Hemsworth „OPERATION: 12 STRONG“ (12 Elitesoldaten sollen nach den Anschlägen auf das World Trade Center 2001 einen Vergeltungsschlag gegen Al-Quaida in Afghanistan führen).

Besser scheinen mir folgende Filme:
„ARTHUR & CLAIRE – Tragik-Komödie – DE,Österreich.,Holland – 2017

Cast: Josef Hader, Hannah Hoekstra

Arthur ist schwer krebskrank und hat nur noch kurze Zeit zu leben. Er fährt nach Amsterdam, nimmt sich ein Hotelzimmer, bestellt sich noch einmal sein Lieblingsessen und möchte sich danach umbringen. Doch dabei vereitelt er den Suizidversuch von Claire, die sich im Nebenzimmer eingemietet hatte. Gemeinsam unternehmen sie daraufhin einen letzten Streifzug durch das nächtliche Amsterdam.

Viele kennen den Schauspieler Harry Dean Stanton noch aus dem Film „Paris Texas“ von Wim Wenders, wo er einen Mann spielt, der zusammen mit seinem Sohn verzweifelt seine Ehefrau sucht, die vor Jahren abgehauen ist. Der Film brachte für Wim Wenders 1984 den internationalen Durchbruch und die Goldene Palme in Cannes. Und für Harry Dean Stanton eine große Bekanntheit. Dennoch blieb er auch in seiner folgenden Karriere immer hinter den großen Hollywood Stars zurück, zu verschroben und eigenartig war sein Charakter. Der Schauspieler John Carrol Lynch (tritt meistens in Nebenrollen auf) hat ein ähnliches Schauspiel-Schicksal wie sein Kollege Stanton. Auch er blieb immer nur in der zweiten Reihe. Ob das John Carrol veranlasst hat einen Film mit Harry Dean Stanton zu machen weiß ich nicht, auf jeden Fall wollte er diesem eigenwilligen Mann mit seinem Film „Lucky“ ein Denkmal setzen. Im selben Jahr seines Todes spielt also der 91-jährige Stanton quasi sich selbst. Einen Mann, der in einem kleinen abgelegenen Wüstenstädtchen lebt und sein Leben mit einer bestimmten Routine angeht, die sich nie ändert. Nach einem Schwächeanfall beginnt er sich zu fragen, ob das Leben nicht aus mehr bestehen kann, als aus Routine…

The new movies in the cinema 8.3.2018

This week, I was a bit disappointed. No movie seems to be the real hit.
Neither can I get excited about the action thriller with Bruce Willis, „DEATH WISH“ (a hospital doctor takes revenge on his wife’s murderers), nor „MOLLY’S GAME“ (a world-class skier becomes an organizer of illegal poker games because of an accident ) or the other action movie starring Chris Hemsworth „OPERATION: 12 STRONG“ (12 elite soldiers are expected to retaliate against Al-Quaida in Afghanistan following the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001).
The following films seem to me better:

Arthur is seriously ill with cancer and has only a short time left to live. He goes to Amsterdam, takes a hotel room, orders his favorite food again and wants to kill himself afterwards. But he disturbs the suicide attempt of Claire, who had rented the next room. Together, they then make a last foray through the night of Amsterdam.

Many know the actor Harry Dean Stanton from the movie „Paris Texas“ by Wim Wenders, where he plays a man who desperately seeks his wife (Nastassja Kinski), who left years ago. The film brought Wim Wenders 1984 international breakthrough and the Golden Palm in Cannes. And for Harry Dean Stanton a great notoriety. Nevertheless, he remained in his following career always behind the other Hollywood stars, too eccentric and strange was his character. The actor John Carrol Lynch (appears mostly in supporting roles) has a similar fate as his colleague Stanton. He, too, always stayed in the second row. I do not know if this caused John Carrol Lynch to make a movie with Harry Dean Stanton, in any case he wanted to make a monument to this idiosyncratic man with his film „Lucky“. In the same year of his death, the 91-year-old Stanton, plays himself. A man who lives in a small, remote desert town and approaches his life with a certain routine that never changes. After a fit of weakness, he starts to wonder if life can not be more than routine …
