Eine deutsche Tragikomödie mit Elyas M’Barek, ein Abenteuerfilm mit „The Rock“ Dwayne Johnson und ein französischer Film mit viel Liebe zur Musik.

In Frankreich hat der Musikfilm Tradition. Sei es als Musical wie „Les parapluies de Cherbourg“ oder natürlich aus jüngerer Zeit „Die Kinder des Monsieur Mathieu“. Fast immer sind sie große Kassenknüller, auch außerhalb Frankreichs. An den letzteren erinnert auch dieser Film: Ein arbeitsloser Geiger gibt einer Schulklasse Geigenunterricht um irgendwie über die Runden zu kommen. Doch was Anfangs als eher unmöglich erscheint, da die Kinder zunächst überhaupt kein Interesse zeigen, wird immer mehr zu einer echten Herausforderung. Ein Auftritt in der Philharmonie von Paris winkt, falls ein gewisses Niveau erreicht wird. Somit steigt das Interesse der Kinder. Dabei kommen alle aus einfachen Verhältnissen in einem Banlieue von Paris. Ein farbiger Junge sticht besonders heraus, Arnold, und zeigt wahres Talent. Auch das ähnelt sehr dem Film „Monsieur Mathieu“. Nach vielen Hindernissen gibt es am Ende natürlich ein Happy End. Aber der Film ist gut gemacht. Und toll sind die jugendlichen Laiendarsteller. Den Hauptdarsteller, Kad Merad, kennen wir noch alle aus „Willkommen bei den Sch’tis“.
Ein Film der Spass macht für die ganze (musikliebende) Familie

Der Film beruht auf einer wahren Geschichte, aufgeschrieben und als Buch veröffentlicht 2013 von Lars Amend. Der Bestseller schrie natürlich nach einer Verfilmung und in Marc Rothemund fand man den richtigen Regisseur dafür. Hatte dieser doch den fabelhaften Film „Und heute bin ich blond“, ebenfalls von 2013, mit der damals noch gänzlich unbekannten Lisa Tomaschevsky gemacht. So gelingt Rothemund auch dieses Mal die eigentlich tragische Geschichte mit vielen humorvollen Szenen zu entkrampfen. Grundlage bildet die Freundschaft eines schwer herzkranken 16-jährigen Jungen (Philip Schwarz) mit einem Mann Anfang dreißig (Elyas M’Barek), der viel Geld von zu Hause bekommt, noch nie arbeiten musste und den ganzen Tag Party feiert. Eines Tages dreht ihm aber sein Vater (Herzspezialist) den Geldhahn zu und erklärt, er müsse nun endlich mal etwas Verantwortungsvolles im Leben leisten. Er schlägt seinem Sohn vor, sich mal um einen seiner schwer herzkranken Patienten zu kümmern, z.B. um den 16-jährigen Daniel. Zunächst recht widerwillig, findet Sohn Lenny doch immer mehr gefallen an der Sache und Lenny und Daniel erleben die wildesten Abenteuer. Auch dieser Film erinnert natürlich an einen Vorgänger, den Film „Ziemlich beste Freunde“. Doch auch der Epigone macht Spaß und kann sich sehen lassen.

Viele von uns erinnern sich noch an die erste Verfilmung von „Jumanji“ aus dem Jahr 1995 mit Robin Williams. Immer noch lässt ein zufällig gefundenes Spiel für Kinder (damals ein Brettspiel, heute ein Videospiel) die beteiligten Personen in das Spiel hineinziehen in eine ganz andere Welt – mitten in den Dschungel. Wie diese neuen Spielfiguren sich zu ihren realen Personen unterscheiden und entsprechend unterschiedlich handeln ist auf jeden Fall lustig. Und viele Abenteuer müssen bestanden werden, um wieder heil aus dem Spiel herauszukommen.
Ein Film eigentlich nur für Kinder.

In France Musical movies has tradition. Like „Les Parapluies de Cherbourg“ or of course more recently „The children of Monsieur Mathieu“ („The Chorus“). They are always big box office hits, even outside of France. The story: An unemployed violinist gives violin lessons to a school class. But what at first seems rather impossible, as the children are initially not interested at all, is increasingly becoming a real challenge, as a performance in the Philharmonie de Paris is possible, if a certain level is reached. Thus, the interest of the children increases. All come from poor families in a banlieue of Paris. A colored boy stands out, Arnold, and shows true talent. This too is very similar to the movie „Monsieur Mathieu“. Of course there will be a happy ending after many obstacles. But the movie is well done. And the young amateur actors are great. The actor in the main role, Kad Merad, we all know from the movie „Welcome to the Sch’tis“.
The movie is fun for the whole (music-loving) family.

The film is based on a true story, written down and published as a book in 2013 by Lars Amend. Of course, the bestseller cried out for a film adaptation, and in Marc Rothemund was found the right director for it. He did make this fabulous movie „And today I’m blond“, also from 2013, made with at that time still completely unknown Lisa Tomaschevsky. Rothemund succeeds this time to relieve the tragic story with many humorous scenes. The basis is the friendship of a badly ill 16-year-old boy (Philip Schwarz) with a man in his early thirties (Elyas M’Barek), who gets a lot of money from home, has never had to work and party all time. One day, his father (cardiologist) stopped the money and declares that he finally has to do something responsible in his life. He suggests to his son to take care of one of his critically ill patients, the 16-year-old Daniel. At first reluctant, son Lenny finds more and more pleasure and Lenny and Daniel experience the wildest adventure. Of course, this film is also reminiscent of a predecessor, the movie „Pretty best friends“. But even the epigone is fun and can be seen.

Many of us still remember the first adaptation of „Jumanji“ in 1995 with Robin Williams. It is still a randomly found game for children (then a board game, now a video game) draws the involved people into the game, into a completely different world – in the middle of a jungle. How these new characters differentiate themselves from their living characters and act differently is quite funny to see. And many adventures must be passed to get out of the game again.
A movie only for kids.
