Filmfestival Cannes 2024 – Die Filme im Wettbewerb

Das diesjährige Filmfestival in Cannes bringt wieder viele spannende Filme und viele internationale Stars auf den Roten Teppich
Wie immer gilt in Cannes:
Nur das beste und glamouröse ist gut genug.
War es letztes Jahr auf der Seite der Filme mit „Anatomie eines Falls“ und „The Zone of Interest“ (beide dieses Jahr Oscar-prämiert) und auf Seiten der Stars mit Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio und Harrison Ford schon on the Top, soll es 2024 nicht langweiliger werden.
Jury-Präsidentin wird keine geringere als Greta Gerwig, die mit dem Film „BARBIE“ im letzten Jahr große Berühmtheit erlangte.
Den Ehrenpreis für sein Lebenswerk bekommt George Lukas, der Regisseur von Filmen wie der „STAR WARS“- und „INDIANER JONES“ Reihe.
Für große Spannung und Aufmerksamkeit werden sicher die Weltpremiere des neuen „MAD MAX“ mit Chris Helmsworth und Ana Taylor-Joy sorgen, sowie der neue Film von Kevin Costner „HORIZON AN AMERICAN SAGA“ mit ihm in der Hauptrolle und Sienna Miller und Sam Worthington in den weiteren Rollen. Eine Geschichte über die Eroberung des amerikanischen Westens in 4 Episoden. Zwei sind davon schon fertig.
Ebenfalls mit großer Spannung wird der neue Film von „Der Pate“ Regisseur Francis Ford Coppola erwartet, dessen Ehefrau leider vor wenigen Tagen verstarb. Er bringt den Blcokbuster „MEGALOPOLIS“ über ein New York der Zukunft, welches nach einer Katastrophe wieder aufgebaut werden soll. Mit Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Sgire, Jason Schwartman, Dustin Hofman und Shia LaBeouf.
Und Oscar-Preisträgerin Emma Stone kommt mit ihrem Lieblingsregisseur Yórgos LÁNTHIMOS hat und ihrem neuen gemeinsamen Projekt „KINGS OF KINDNESS“. Für ihre Rolle in „POOR THINGS“ von Yórgos LÁNTHIMOS hat sie gerade im März in Los Angeles den Academy Award für die Beste Hauptrolle erobern können.
Und schon wird sie zwei Monate später auf dem Roten Teppich in Cannes erwartet.

Cannes Film Festival 2024 – The films in competition

This year’s Cannes Film Festival is once again bringing many exciting films and many international stars to the red carpet
As always in Cannes: only the best and glamorous is good enough.
Last year it was on the film side with “Anatomy of a Case” and “The Zone of Interest” (both Oscar-winning this year) and on the star side with Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Harrison Ford already on the top, should it won’t get any more boring in 2024.
The world premiere of the new “MAD MAX” with Chris Helmsworth and Ana Taylor-Joy, as well as the new film by Kevin Costner “HORIZON AN AMERICAN SAGA” with him in the lead role and Sienna Miller and Sam Worthington will certainly ensure great excitement and attention the other roles. A story about the conquest of the American West in 4 episodes. Two of them are already finished.
The new film by “The Godfather” director Francis Ford Coppola, whose wife unfortunately died a few days ago, is also eagerly awaited. He brings the blockbuster MEGALOPOLIS about a New York of the future, which is to be rebuilt after a catastrophe.
Starring Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Sgire, Jason Schwartman, Dustin Hofman and Shia LaBeouf.
And Oscar winner Emma Stone comes with her favorite director Yórgos LÁNTHIMOS and their new joint project “KINGS OF KINDNESS”. For her role in “POOR THINGS” by Yórgos LÁNTHIMOS, she won the Academy Award for Best Leading Role in Los Angeles in March.
And just two months later she is expected on the red carpet in Cannes.
