Mit erprobten Konzepten in die neue Saison

Seit ein paar Jahren haben sich bestimmte Formate der Berliner Modewoche eingespielt.

Berlin Contemporary

Am wichtigsten ist die BERLIN CONTEMPORARY, bei der jedes Mal durch eine Fachjury bis zu 20 Brands eine Förderung von 25.000 Euro vom Berliner Wirtschaftssenat für die Realisierung einer Kollektion bekommen.
Dieses Jahr wurden 19 Designer ausgewählt.
14 Labels sind aus Deutschland und fünf aus anderen Ländern.

Die 19 Sieger:
Andrej Gronau, DAGGER, Gerrit Jacob, GmbH, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, Kasia Kucharska, Laura Gerte, LUEDER, Marke, Milk of Lime, SF1OG, Selva, UNVAIN und William Fan – aus Deutschland.
Dazu Barragan aus New York, John Lawrence Sullivan aus Tokio, sowie Fruché, Orange Culture und BUZIGAHILL aus afrikanischen Ländern.
Die einzelnen Modenschauen werden von jedem Designer selbst organisiert.

Dabei zeigen einige von ihnen ihre Kollektionen im legendären ICC (International Congress Centrum), das wie ein riesiges Raumschiff aussieht und immer noch auf seine Wiederbelebung wartet.
Zurzeit sind fünf Architekturbüros eingeladen sich Konzepte auszudenken.

STUDIO2RETAIL

In der Event-Kategorie STUDIO2RETAIL (mit jeweils 5.000 Euro gesponsert) wurden durch eine Concept Competition folgende Designer ausgewählt:
Dennis Chuene, Esther Perbandt, Ioannes, Lou de Bètoly, PLAID-À-PORTER und Richert Beil entschieden (verschiede Orte).

VORN Fashion Hub

Die CIRCULAR SOCIETY veranstaltet im Bikini Berlin am Breitscheidtplatz am 3. Juli 2026 die VORN – THE BERLIN FASHION HUB ein ganztägiges Programm zum Thema Circular Fashion – eine weitere Form von nachhaltiges Wirtschaften in der Mode.
Mit Vintage-Mode ist Circular Fashion eine weitere wichtige Form, um der Massenproduktion von Kleidung entgegen zu treten.
Die weltweite Textil- und Bekleidungsindustrie verursacht jährlich schätzungsweise 1,2 bis 1,7 Milliarden Tonnen CO₂.
Dies entspricht etwa 8 bis 10 Prozent der gesamten globalen CO₂-Emissionen und übersteigt damit die Klimabelastung des internationalen Flug- und Schiffsverkehrs zusammen!

RAUM.Berlin

Mit RAUM.Berlin kommt ein weiteres Format der BFW wieder.
Dabei veranstaltet der FCG (Fashion Council Germany), unterstützt vom Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft, eine Reihe von Modepräsentationen an einem bestimmten Ort.
Dieses Mal im neuen John Jahr Haus an der Kurfürstenstrasse 72.
Eine Jury wählte hierzu 16 Marken aus:
ANNE BERNECKER, ELODIE CARSTENSEN, Inlé Studio, krobos, Laura de Sousa, lealabob, Lennart Bohle, Natascha von Hirschhausen, NAOMI TARAZI, PALMWINE IceCREAM, PANOS GOTSIS, PLNGNS, SOCIÉTÉ ANGELIQUE, Sofia Hermens Fernandez, TATi und VLADIMIR KARALEEV.

Daneben gibt es weitere Modenschauen unabhängiger Designer:
Kilian Kerner, Marina Hoermanseder und Rebekka Ruétz;
Sowie die Marken #DAMUR, KOLYA BOGATYREV, Impari, Nowrubi und sample030 und die Labels MARIUSZ PRZYBYLSKI, MARIE-LOUISE MÜLLER und Studio Taskin.

Berlin Curated

In diesem Format wird jungen Designern ermöglich ihre Kreationen zu zeigen.
Unterstützt durch den Berliner Wirtschaftssenat und umgesetzt durch die Agentur 0049x.
Darin sind enthalten Modenschauen von drei Berliner Modeschulen:
UDK (Universität der Künste), Kunsthochschule Weissensee (zeigt im ZK/ U – Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik in der Siemensstr. 27, 10551 Berlin-Moabit) und der Lette Verein Berlin (in den Atelier Gardens in Berlin-Tempelhof, Oberlandstraße 26-35, 12099 Berlin).

NEO Fashion

Hier werden Kollektionen von acht Modeschulen aus Deutschland gezeigt.
1. Hochschule Macromedia Berlin/ Hamburg, Hochschule Niederrhein, HTW Berlin, AMD Berlin, Hochschule Hannover, Hochschule Reutlingen, Hochschule Pforzheim, Hochschule Bielefeld und HAW Hamburg.

Der Berliner Salon

Auch die an Schaufensterpuppen dekorierten Präsentationen im Rahmen des Berliner Salons sind wieder dabei.
Ebenfalls unterstützt von Berliner Wirtschaftssenat.
Kuratiert von CHRISTIANE ARP und organisiert von der Agentur Nowadays zeigen 63 Designer Teile ihrer Kollektion.

Der FCG Showroom

Hier zeigt der Fashion Council Germany mit ausgewählten Designern einzelne Kollektionen in einem besonderen Umfelds.
Früher war es das Hotel Chateau Royal in Berlin-Mitte, dieses Mal ist es das Hotel Zoo, Kurfürstendamm 25.

Die Dialogreihe diskutiert wieder Themen rund um die Mode-

Fotoausstellungen

Zeitgleich zur BERLIN FASHION WEEK finden drei moderelevante Fotoausstellungen statt:

1. Die Villa Grisebach in der Fasanenstrasse 25 in Berlin-Charlottenburg zeigt private Fotos der ehemaligen Chefredakteurin der deutschen Vogue, ANGELICA BLECHSCHMIDT, die sie in den 90er Jahren bei den Fashion Shows in Paris, Mailand und London an den Laufstegen oder Backstage fotografierte.

2. Die CFA (Contemporary Fine Arts) Gallery in der Grolmannstr. 32 in Berlin-Charlottenburg zeigt neue Arbeiten des ehemaligen Modefotografen JÜRGEN TELLER (u.a. Fotos mit Sandra Hüller und Lars Eidinger)

3. Die Helmut Newton Stiftung in der Jebenstr. 2 in Berlin-Charlottenburg zeigt die neue Ausstellung „Rooms“ mit großformatigen Prints des Modefotografen Helmut Newton.

Zum Schluss:

1. Die einzige international tätige Modemarke, die bisher bei der BFW ihre Kollektionen gezeigt hat, war MARC CAIN.
   Seit über 10 Jahren hatten sie ihre Kollektionen zur Berlin Fashion Week präsentiert.
   Letztes Jahr noch spektakulär im PEI-Bau des Deutschen Historischen Museums.
   Wie jetzt bekannt wurde wird MARC CAIN dieses Mal nicht dabei sein, angeblich wegen des 80. Geburtstags ihres Gründers Helmut Schlotterer.
   Ob MARC CAIN dann noch einmal wiederkommt?
2. Der im zweiten Jahr vergebene FCG/ VOGUE FASHION FUND ging an die Modemarke GmbH mit den Designern Serhat Isik und Benjamin Alexander Huseby.
   Die Finalisten waren Balletshofer, Gerrit Jacob, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, Kitschy Couture, Laura Gerte, and Lou de Bètoly.
   Als Preisgeld gab es 50.000 Euro.
3. Eine Closing Party der BFW findet im Club Weekend in der 17. Etage eines Bürohauses am Alexanderplatz statt.

Into the new season with proven concepts

For a few years now, certain formats of Berlin Fashion Week have become well-established.

Berlin Contemporary

The most important event is BERLIN CONTEMPORARY, where an expert jury selects up to 20 brands each time to receive €25,000 in funding from the Berlin Senate Department for Economics to produce a collection.
This year, 19 designers were selected.
14 labels are from Germany, and five are from other countries.
The 19 winners are:
Andrej Gronau, DAGGER, Gerrit Jacob, GmbH, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, Kasia Kucharska, Laura Gerte, LUEDER, Marke, Milk of Lime, SF1OG, Selva, UNVAIN, and William Fan—all from Germany.
They are joined by Barragan from New York, John Lawrence Sullivan from Tokyo, and Fruché, Orange Culture, and BUZIGAHILL from African countries.

Some of them are showcasing their collections at the legendary ICC (International Congress Center), a building that resembles a massive spaceship and is still awaiting revitalization.
Five architectural firms have currently been invited to develop concepts for the site.
We look forward to seeing the results.

VORN Fashion Hub

On July 3, 2026, CIRCULAR SOCIETY is hosting a full-day program at Bikini Berlin (at Breitscheidplatz) titled „VORN – THE BERLIN FASHION HUB,“ focusing on circular fashion—another form of sustainable practice within the fashion industry.
Alongside vintage fashion, circular fashion represents another important way to counter the mass production of clothing.
The global textile and apparel industry generates an estimated 1.2 to 1.7 billion tons of CO₂ annually.
This accounts for approximately 8 to 10 percent of total global CO₂ emissions, exceeding the combined climate impact of international air and maritime transport!

RAUM.Berlin

RAUM.Berlin marks the return of another BFW format.
Organized by the Fashion Council Germany (FCG) with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, the event features a series of fashion presentations at a specific venue.
This time, the event is taking place at the new John Jahr Haus at Kurfürstenstrasse 72.
A jury selected 16 brands to participate:

This format gives young designers the opportunity to showcase their creations.
It is supported by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics and implemented by the agency 0049x.
The program includes fashion shows by three Berlin fashion schools:

Photography Exhibitions

Three fashion-related photography exhibitions are taking place concurrently with Berlin Fashion Week:

1. Villa Grisebach (Fasanenstrasse 25, Berlin-Charlottenburg) is showing private photographs taken by Angelica Blechschmidt, the former editor-in-chief of German *Vogue*; these images capture scenes from the runways and backstage areas at fashion shows in Paris, Milan, and London during the 1990s.

2. The CFA (Contemporary Fine Arts) Gallery (Grolmannstr. 32, Berlin-Charlottenburg) is exhibiting new works by former fashion photographer Jürgen Teller (including photos featuring Sandra Hüller and Lars Eidinger).

3. The Helmut Newton Foundation (Jebenstr. 2, Berlin-Charlottenburg) is presenting the new exhibition „ROOMS,“ featuring large-format prints by fashion photographer Helmut Newton.

Finally:

1. MARC CAIN was the only internationally active fashion brand to have showcased its collections at BFW to date.
They had been presenting their collections at Berlin Fashion Week for over a decade—most recently with a spectacular show last year in the Pei Building of the German Historical Museum.
It has now been revealed that MARC CAIN will not be participating this time, reportedly due to the 80th birthday of its founder, Helmut Schlotterer.
Will MARC CAIN return in the future?
2. The FCG/VOGUE Fashion Fund—awarded for the second year running—went to the fashion brand GmbH, led by designers Serhat Isik and Benjamin Alexander Huseby.
The finalists were Balletshofer, Gerrit Jacob, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, Kitschy Couture, Laura Gerte, and Lou de Bètoly.
The prize money amounted to 50,000 euros.
3. The BFW closing party is taking place at Club Weekend, located on the 17th floor of an office building at Alexanderplatz.
