Fashion Shows Fall/ Winter 2018 Review

Rückblick auf die Modenschauen in NewYork, London, Mailand und Paris mit den wichtigsten Trends für die Mode im Herbst/ Winter 2018.

Eigentlich sollte meine Modespezialistin Lydia Kleiber den Bericht schreiben, aber seit sie von den Modenschauen in Paris zurück ist, liegt sie mit Grippe im Bett. Doch sie hat mich mit vielen Informationen gefüttert und so versuche ich Euch eine Zusammenfassung der wichtigsten Trends für die kommende Wintersaison zu geben:

1. Ponchos. Weite Umhänge verhüllen den Körper im nächsten Winter
2. Hemdblusenkleider. Von hüft- bis knöchellang.
3. Schottenmuster. Im Englischen auch Argyle bezeichnet, benannt nach dem gleichnamigen Ort in Schottland. König Eduard der Dritte soll sie beim Golfspielen getragen haben. Bei uns kennt man das Rautenmuster hauptsächlich durch die Burlington Socks. Mittlerweile gibt es dieses Muster in allen Formen und Farben. Nicolas Ghesquière bei Louis Vuitton zeigte sie sogar als Pullover mit Hose für den Abend.
4. Sock Boots – Stiefeletten, die einem Strumpf gleich eng an Knöchel und Waden liegen, manchmal bis über die Knie, manchmal auch glänzend.
5. Achtziger Jahre. Nachdem lange die 70er als Vorbild galten sind jetzt die 80er angesagt. Schulterpolster und Bling-Bling ganz im Stil der Trump-Ära.

Die besten Shows waren:

Jason Wu (New York). Der 1981 in Taiwan geborene und in Kanada aufgewachsene Designer wurde bekannt, als Michelle Obama 2009 zur Amtsübernahme ihres Mannes Barack Obama ein Kleid von Jason Wu trug.

Calvin Klein (Raf Simons), New York. Der 1968 in Belgien geborene Raf Simons ist seit 2016 „Chief Creativ Officer“ der Marke Calvin Klein. Vorher war er bei Christian Dior und Jil Sander. Seit dem Verkauf seines Unternehmens an einen Investor 2002 ist Calvin Klein (*1942) selbst nicht mehr für das Design der Marke verantwortlich.

Pyer Moss (Kerby Jean Raymond), New York. Der farbige Designer aus Brooklyn wurde bekannt durch seine Kollektion 2015, die er damals dem Thema „Black Lives Matter“ widmete, beeinflusst durch eigene schlimme Erfahrungen in den Schwarzen-Vierteln von New York.

Burberry, London. Die sensationelle Show, die mit Laserlicht ausgeleuchtet wurde, war bestimmt durch den Weggang des bisherigen Designers Christopher Bailey, der ein Jahrzehnt die Geschicke der traditionellen Marke gelenkt hat. Sein Nachfolger wird Riccardo Tisci, ehemals bei Givenchy.

Simone Rocha (Simone Rocha), London. Die 1986 in Irland geborene Designerin ist eine der vielversprechendsten jungen Talente der Londoner Modeszene.

Gucci (Alessandro Michele), Mailand. Die Show bestach durch einen Material- und Farbenmix. Für Verwirrung sorgten nachgemachte Köpfe der Models, die selbige während der Show unter ihren Armen trugen. Ob sie als Accessoire gedacht waren? Auch ein Drache aus „Games of Thrones“ durfte nicht fehlen.

Marni (Francesco Risso), Mailand. 1994 von Gianni und Consuelo Castiglioni gegründet. Seit 2016 gehört es zu der Unternehmensgruppe OTB, zu der auch Disquared, Viktor & Rolf und Maison Margiela gehören.

Bottega Veneta (Tomas Maier), Mailand. Der deutsche Tomas Maier (*1957) bestimmt seit 30 Jahren das Design der Marke.

Prada (Miuccia Prada), Mailand. Seit 40 Jahren ist Miuccia Prada (*1949) der kreative Kopf des Multi-Milliarden Unternehmens. Seit 30 Jahren ist Prada die führende Modemarke in Italien.

Moncler (acht Designer kreieren ab dieser Saison die Marke mit monatlich wechselnden Kollektionen: Pierpaolo Piccioli von Valentino, Simone Rocha, Kei Ninomiya, Karl Templer, Hiroshi Fujiwara von Fragment, Sandro Mandrino, Craig Green und Francesco Ragazzi), Mailand

Chanel (Karl Lagerfeld, neuerdings mit Vollbart), Paris. Für seine Herbstkollektion ließ „King Karl“ das gesamte Grand Palais in einen Wald verwandeln mit hunderten von Bäumen (prompt gab es wegen der gefällten Bäume ein paar Proteste) und 10 cm dicker Laubschicht. Starmodel Kaia Gerber (Tochter von Supermodel Cindy Crawford) führte die Show an.

Yves Saint-Laurent (Anthony Vaccarello), Paris. Die Italienerin Francesca Belletini ist seit mehreren Jahren Leiterin der Kreativabteilung des Hauses. Vor kurzem holte sie den jungen Belgier Anthony Vaccarello (italienische Wurzeln) und machte ihn zum Chefdesigner von YSL. Letztes Jahr kam es in Frankreich übrigens zum Skandal, als Francesca Belletini eine Werbekampagne mit sehr provokanten Bildern veröffentlichen ließ. (Siehe Bilderserie).

Haider Ackermann (Haider Ackermann), Paris. Der Kolumbianer ist mittlerweile einer der Topstars unter den jungen Designern geworden.

Was, liebe Damen, Ihr davon in spätestens 8 Monaten tragen werdet (oder als Kopie von H&M, Zara oder TopShop) bleibt Euch überlassen. Ein Augenschmaus sind die Kreationen allemal, wie hier zu sehen.

Fashion Shows Fall 2018 Review

Review of the fashion shows in New, London, Milan and Paris with the main trends for fashion in autumn / winter 2018.
Actually, my fashion specialist Lydia Kleiber should write the report, but since she’s back from the Paris fashion shows, she’s in bed with the flu. But she fed me a lot of information and so I try to give you a summary of the most important trends for the upcoming winter season:
1. Ponchos. Wide capes cover the body next winter
2. Shirt dresses. From hip to ankle length.
3. Tartan pattern. Also called Argyle in English, named after the town in Scotland. King Eduard the Third is said to have worn them while playing golf. We know the diamond pattern mainly through the Burberry Socks. There is now this pattern in all shapes and colors. Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton even showed them as a sweater with trousers for the evening.
4. Sock Boots – Ankle boots that are just as close to ankle and calves as a stocking, sometimes over the knees, sometimes shiny.
5. The Eighties. After a long time the 70s were regarded as a role model now the 80s are announced. Shoulder pads and bling-bling in the style of the Trump era.
The best shows were:
Jason Wu (New York). Born in Taiwan in 1981 and raised in Canada, the designer became known when Michelle Obama wore a Jason Wu dress in 2009 to take over her husband Barack Obama.
Calvin Klein (Raf Simons), New York. Born in Belgium in 1968, Raf Simons has been Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein since 2016. Before, he was with Christian Dior and Jil Sander. Since selling his company to an investor in 2002, Calvin Klein (* 1942) himself is no longer responsible for the design of the brand.
Pyer Moss (Kerby Jean Raymond), New York. The colorful designer from Brooklyn became known for his collection in 2015, which he then dedicated to the theme „Black Lives Matter“, influenced by own bad experiences in the black quarters of New York.
Burberry, London. The sensational show, illuminated with laser light, was marked by the departure of the former designer Christopher Bailey, who has steered the destinies of the traditional brand for a decade. His successor will be Riccardo Tisci, formerly at Givenchy.
Simone Rocha, London. Born in Ireland in 1986, the designer is one of London’s most promising young talents.
Gucci (Alessandro Michele), Milan. The show captivated by a mix of materials and colors. For confusion provided imitation heads of the models who wore them during the show under their arms. Whether they were intended as an accessory? Also a dragon from „Games of Thrones“ could not be missing.
Marni (Francesco Risso), Milan. Founded in 1994 by Gianni and Consuelo Castiglioni. Since 2016, it has been part of the OTB Group, which also includes Disquared, Viktor & Rolf and Maison Margiela.
Bottega Veneta (Tomas Maier), Milan. The German Tomas Maier (* 1957) has determined the design of the brand for 30 years.
Prada (Miuccia Prada), Milan. For 40 years Miuccia Prada (* 1949) is the creative head of the multi-billion dollar company. For 30 years, Prada is the leading fashion brand in Italy.
Moncler (eight designers will be creating the brand with monthly changing collections from this season: Pierino Piercolo Piccioli, Simone Rocha, Kei Ninomiya, Karl Templer, Fragment Hiroshi Fujiwara, Sandro Mandrino, Craig Green and Francesco Ragazzi), Milan
Chanel (Karl Lagerfeld, now with full beard), Paris. For his autumn collection, „King Karl“ turned the entire Grand Palais into a forest with hundreds of trees (promptly there were some protests due to the felled trees) and 10 cm of thick foliage. Starmodel Kaia Gerber (daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford) led the show.
Yves Saint-Laurent (Anthony Vaccarello), Paris. The Italian Francesca Belletini, a former Goldman Sachs Investment Banker, has been the head of the creative department of the house since 2013. Recently, she brought the young Belgian Anthony Vaccarello (Italian roots) and made him the chief designer of YSL. Last year a scandal broke out when Francesca Belletini released an advertising campaign with very provocative images. (See picture series).
Haider Ackermann (Haider Ackermann), Paris. The Colombian has become one of the top stars among the (still young) designers.
What, dear ladies, you will wear in 8 months at the latest (or as a copy of H & M or Zara) is up to you. A visual treat are the creations always, as seen here.
