„OCEANS’S 8“ – Gangster-Komödie – USA – 2018

Cast: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling

Die Fußballweltmeisterschaft ist auf dem Filmmarkt immer noch schmerzlich zu spüren, auch wenn Deutschland schon in der Vorrunde ausgeschieden ist. Gerade mal einen Film aus zwei Wochen kann ich zurzeit empfehlen:
Nichts verspricht so viele Einnahmen, wie der Sequel eines Blockbuster Movies, der bereits, der bereits mit großem Erfolg an den Kinokassen lief. So auch die“Ocean’s eleven, twelve and thirteen“ Reihe. Deshalb nun „Ocean’s 8“. Dabei muss natürlich auch der Cast stimmen und mit den Oscarpreisträgerinnen Sandra Bullock und Cate Blanchett scheint alles zu stimmen. Doch ach das Drehbuch muss den hohen Anforderungen gerecht werden. Aber gegen das Genie von Steven Soderbergh kommt man nur schwer an. So ist „Ocean’s 8“ ein solider Krimi geworden mit viel Witz und Humor ohne die Aura, die George Clooney, Brat Pitt und Matt Damon in den Vorgängerfilmen gezeigt haben. Die Story: Die Schwester von Danny Ocean, Debbie (Sandra Bullock), ist genauso versiert in Einbruch und Diebstahl, wie ihr Bruder. Zusammen mit ihren angeheuerten Mithelferinnen versucht sie ein Diamentencollier bei einer Spendengala im Metropolitan Museum in New York vom Hals der hübschen Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) zu klauen. Im ersten Teil etwas lahm, wird der zweite Teil spannender und nimmt an Fahrt auf. Und Anne Hathaway darf den (ironischen) Schlusspunkt setzen.
Fazit: Ein Film mit geballter Frauenpower und toller Schauspieler-Crew.
Besonders Cate Blanchett und Anne Hathaway sehen mal wieder hinreißend aus.

The football World Cup is still painfully felt on the film market, even if Germany has already retired in the preliminary round. Just a movie from two weeks I can currently recommend:
Nothing promises so many revenues, as the sequel of a blockbuster movie, who already ran with great success at the box office. Like the „Ocean’s eleven, twelve and thirteen“ series. So now „Ocean’s 8“. Of course, the cast has to be excellent, and everything seems to be right with Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett. And the script must meet the high demands. But against the genius of Steven Soderbergh it is difficult to get. So „Ocean’s 8“ has become a solid thriller with much humor but without the aura that George Clooney, Brat Pitt and Matt Damon have given in the previous films. The Story: Danny Ocean’s sister Debbie (Sandra Bullock) is as adept at burglary and theft as her brother. Together with her assistants, she tries to steal a diamond necklace from the neck of the pretty Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) at a donation gala in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. A bit lame in the first part, the second part gets more exciting and gets going. And Anne Hathaway may set the (ironic) finish. Conclusion: A film with concentrated female power and great actor crew. Especially Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway look gorgeous again.
