Chris de Burgh präsentiert neue CD „A Better World“ im Frühsommer 2017 live
Die Deutschlandtour im Mai 2017 benennt Chris de Burgh wie sein 21. Studio-Album – „A Better World“. Der Titel dieser Veröffentlichung (VÖ: 23. September, Starwatch Entertainment/ Sony), deren mit wenigen Strichen gemaltes Cover eine aus dem verdörrten Erdboden wachsende bunte Blume zeigt, ist Programm. „Bethlehem“, die überraschend rockige erste Single (im Geiste seiner früheren kantig-tempogeladenen Lieder wie beispielsweise „Don’t Pay The Ferryman“ von 1982), setzt das Weltgeschehen in poetischen Bezug zu dem biblischen Schlüsselort.
Der Song „Homeland“ stellt sogar die Flüchtlingsthematik in den Mittelpunkt und zeigt Chris de Burgh als lyrischen Gegenwartschronisten. 15 Lieder umfasst die inhaltlich komplexe, musikalisch abwechslungsreiche und dennoch in sich stimmige Platte. Sie beinhaltet all das, was die Fans an den Kompositionen des irischen Singer/Songwriters lieben: Balladen und Episches plus Lieder, die irisch-folkloristisch gefärbt sind, aber auch mal dezent- swingend daherkommen können. Die Shows von Chris de Burgh wären natürlich nicht rund, wenn er nicht auch seine größten Hits wie „The Lady In Red“, „Missing You“ oder „Don’t Pay The Ferryman“ sowie „High On Emotion“ spielen würde.

Hollywood Vampires is an American rock supergroup formed in 2015 by Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry to honor the music of the rock stars who died from excess in the 1970s. The band name derives from The Hollywood Vampires, a celebrity drinking club formed by Cooper in the 1970s which included but was not limited to: John Lennon and Ringo Starr of The Beatles, Keith Moon of The Who, and Micky Dolenz of The Monkees. Touring members include or have included Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum of Guns ‚N Roses fame, as well as Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots.
The band has released one studio album, Hollywood Vampires (2015), featuring guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, and Christopher Lee among others.
