Lady Dior as seen by – Eine Tasche erobert die Welt
Die Damentasche ist noch immer eines der, wenn nicht das, wichtigste Accessoire einer Frau.
Weshalb alle großen Couture-Häuser der Welt auch immer ein beachtliches Sortiment an Taschen parat hält – natürlich immer zu sehr hohen Preisen.
Für die Dame ist ihre Tasche nicht nur ein notwendiges Behältnis verschiedener Utensilien, wie insbesondere Beauty-Produkte, sondern auch Prestige-Objekt. Ähnlich wie der Mann seine Uhr oder sein Auto, präsentiert die Lady ihre Tasche als Zeichen ihrer Persönlichkeit.
Viele dieser Taschen haben eigene Namen bekommen, insbesondere die Namen ihrer Trägerinnen. Erinnern wir uns an die KELLY-BAG aus dem Hause Hermès, die 1956 von Grace Kelly, oder auch Fürstin Grazia Patrizia von Monaco, getragen wurde und so ihren unverwechselbaren Namen bekam.

Wie auch die Lady Dior Tasche:
Als Lady Diana, Prinzessin von Wales, 1995 zu Besuch bei der Ehefrau des damaligen französischen Präsidenten Jacque Chirac, Bernadette Chirac, zu Besuch war, erhielt sie von eben dieser eine Tasche von Dior als Geschenk. Diese Tasche war erst im selben Jahr vom Couture-Haus Christian Dior kreiert worden. Kaum wurde Lady Di damit auf mehreren Empfängen gesehen, bekam die Tasche schnell ihren Namen: LADY DIOR.

Vor etwas über 10 Jahren gab das Maison Dior an mehrere Künstler in der ganzen Welt den Auftrag sich von dieser Tasche inspirieren zu lassen und daraus etwas Neues zu schaffen. Seither sind über 150 Skulpturen, Fotografien und Videoinstallationen entstanden.
Seit 2011 tourt die Ausstellung „Lady Dior as seen by…“ durch die Welt, wobei immer neue Arbeiten hinzu kommen.
Nach Schanghai, Tokio, Mailand und anderen Städten ist die Ausstellung nun in Berlin angekommen.
Der Galerist Michael Fuchs hat dafür seine schönen Räume in der ehemaligen Mädchenschule in Berlin-Mitte zur Verfügung gestellt und zeigt dort eine Auswahl der Kollektion.

Die Ausstellung ist auf jeden Fall nicht nur für die Damenwelt interessant und spannend.
Sie läuft noch bis Sonntag, den 27. Juni 2021.

Lady Dior as seen by – a bag conquers the world
The women’s bag is still one of, if not the, most important accessory for a woman.
Which is why all the big couture houses in the world always have a considerable range of bags ready – always at very high prices, of course. For the lady, her bag is not only a necessary container for various utensils, such as beauty products in particular, but also a prestige object. Similar to a man his watch or his car, the lady presents her bag as a sign of her personality.
Many of these bags have their own names, especially the names of those who wear them.
Let us remember the KELLY-BAG from Hermès, which was worn in 1956 by Grace Kelly, or Princess Grazia Patrizia of Monaco, and thus got its unmistakable name.

This is also the case with the Lady Dior bag:
when Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, was visiting the wife of the then French President Jacque Chirac, Bernadette Chirac, in 1995, she received a Dior bag as a gift from him. This bag was only created in the same year by the couture house Christian Dior. As soon as Lady Di was seen with it at several receptions, the bag quickly got a name: LADY DIOR.

A little over 10 years ago the Maison Dior commissioned several artists all over the world to be inspired by this bag and to create something new out of it.
Since then, over 150 sculptures, photographs and video installations have been created.
The exhibition “Lady Dior as seen by …” has been touring the world since 2011, with new works being added all the time.
After Shanghai, Tokyo, Milan and other cities, the exhibition has now arrived in Berlin.
The gallery owner Michael Fuchs has made his beautiful rooms in the former girls‘ school in Berlin-Mitte available and is showing a selection of the collection there.
The exhibition is definitely not only interesting and exciting for women.
It will run until Sunday, June 27, 2021.
