Vom 1. bis zum 4. Juli 2019 feiert die Berliner Modewelt wieder ihre „MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK“. Allen Unkenrufen zum Trotz ist sie immer noch da, probiert aber jedes Mal neue Konzepte aus.
Dieses Mal gibt es neben dem festen Gebäude des E-Werks an der Wilhelmstrasse gegenüber dem Finanzministerium zusätzlich das „GROWHOUS““, eine Art Gewächshaus (bin schon gespannt, wie so etwas aussieht), indem mehrere Designer ihre Modelle vorstellen. Auch das „normale“ Publikum darf vorbeischauen.

Ebenfalls bei den Modenschauen ist dieses Mal auch „normales“ Publikum gefragt. Über die online Plattform aboutyou-fashionweek.de kann jeder dort Tickets für die Shows kaufen. Sie kosten zwischen 12.- und 20.- Euro.
Die Zahl der reinen Shows im E-Werk bleibt aber überschaubar. Gerade mal 24 „echte“ runwayshows“ werden dem Publikum geboten, der Rest sind Präsentationen.
Immer mehr Modehäuser zieht es dagegen zu sogenannten „Offsites“.
Das können Hotels sein (Anja Gockel zeigt im Hotel Adlon und Marcel Ostertag im Hotel Westin Grand) oder auch Restaurants (Lena Hoschek zeigt ihre Mode im Restaurant Borchardt, genauer gesagt in den Salonräumen des 1. Stocks, wo auch ich bereits eine Ausstellung mit meinen Fotografien hatte).

Erwähnen sollte ich natürlich die „Events“, für manche der einzige Grund, nach Berlin zu kommen.
Wie z.B. die Sustainable Fashion Conference am Dienstag von 11 – 18 Uhr im Kraftwerk an der Köpenicker Strasse, sowie am selben Ort die NEONYT Messe für nachhaltige Mode vom 2. – 4. Juli 2019, 9 – 18 Uhr, meistens von irgendwelchen Partys am Abend begleitet.
– Der BERLIN FASHION AWARD am Montag um 17.00 Uhr im Hamburger Bahnhof
– Das FireSideChat Dinner des Fashion Council of Germany am Montag Abend im Hotel Savigny.
– Die JOOP Party am Dienstag Abend ab 20.30 Uhr im KaDeWe Kaufhaus des Westens.
Außerdem:
– Ein POP-UP Store des Fashion Council Germany in der Neuen Schönhauser Strasse 13 vom 24. Juni – 6. Juli 2019, jeweils von 11 – 20 Uhr.
– Eine Installation des GERMAN SUSTAIN CONCEPT im Atrium des Bikini Hauses (Budapester Strasse 38 – 50 am Bahnhof Zoo) vom 2. – 17. Juli.
– Und die große Geburtstags-Party der VOGUE Redaktion zum 40. Jubiläum der deutschen Vogue am Freitag Abend im KaDeWe.

Apropos Vogue und KaDeWe:
Wie Ihr vielleicht schon gehört habt, gibt es ab dieser Saison keinen BERLINER SALON (oder auch Berliner Mode Salon) mehr.
Wahrscheinlich haben sich die Geldgeber verabschiedet. Dabei mochte ich ihn sehr: gute Designer in historischer Umgebung (wie dem Kronprinzenpalais mit seinem herrlichen Garten). Der Berliner Salon wird mir fehlen.
Geblieben ist aber der VOGUE SALON, initiiert und geleitet von VOGUE Chefin Christiane Arp. In den früheren Jahren waren der Berliner Salon und der Vogue Salon immer zusammen an einer Location, dieses Mal musste sich Christiane Arp etwas für sich alleine suchen.
Und siehe da, es fand sich unser berühmtestes Kaufhaus von Berlin, das KaDeWe.
Neben 19 ehemaligen Vogue-Salon-Teilnehmer*nnen, darunter William Fan, Marina Hörmanseder, Nobi Talai, David Tomaszewski und Horror Vacui, zeigen als Neuzugänge die Designerinnen Lara Krude, Julia Leifert und Lydia Maurer (Phylyda) Auszüge aus ihren Kollektionen.
Und noch eine Neuerung gibt es: Die Präsentation ist nicht nur für das Fachpublikum gedacht, sondern jeder, der Lust hat und das KaDeWe vielleicht sowieso besuchen möchte, ist herzlich willkommen.
Na, wenn das keine demokratischen Verhältnisse sind. Auch das gemeine Volk darf dabei sein…

Preview Berlin Fashion Week S / S 2020

From 1 to 4 July 2019, the Berlin fashion world is once again celebrating its „MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK“. Despite all prophecies of doom, it is still existing, but every time it tries out new concepts in order to survive.
This time, in addition to the solid building of the E-Werk on Wilhelmstrasse opposite the Ministry of Finance, there is also the „GROWHOUS“, a kind of greenhouse (I am curious how it looks like), where several designers present their models. Even the public is allow to enter this place.
Same for the fashion shows: this time also „ordinary“ people can get in. Everyone can buy tickets for the shows via the online platform aboutyou-fashionweek.de. Tickets cost between 12.- and 20.- Euro.
The number of real shows in the E-Werk remains limited. Just 24 „real“ runwayshows are offered to the audience, the rest are presentations.
More and more fashion houses are attracted to so-called „offsites“. This can be hotels (Anja Gockel shows in the Hotel Adlon and Marcel Ostertag in the Hotel Westin Grand) or restaurants (Lena Hoschek shows her fashion in the restaurant Borchardt, more precisely in the salon rooms of the 1st floor, where I already had an exhibition with my photographs).
Of course I should mention the „events“, for some the only reason to come to Berlin.
For example the Sustainable Fashion Conference on Tuesday from 11 am to 6 pm at the Power Station on Köpenicker Strasse, as well as the NEONYT fair for sustainable fashion at the same place from 2 to 4 July 2019, 9 am to 6 pm, mostly accompanied by some parties in the evening.
And more:
– The FireSideChat Dinner of the Fashion Council of Germany on Monday at the Hotel Savigny.
– The BERLIN FASHION AWARD on Monday at 17.00 clock in the Hamburger Bahnhof
– The JOOP Party on Tuesday evening from 20.30 clock in the KaDeWe department store of the West.
– A POP-UP Store of the Fashion Council Germany in the Neue Schönhauser Strasse 13 from June 24 to July 6, 2019, from 11 am to 8 pm.
– An installation of the GERMAN SUSTAIN CONCEPT in the atrium of the Bikini Haus (Budapester Strasse 38 – 50 at Bahnhof Zoo) from 2 – 17 July.
– And the big birthday party of the VOGUE editorial team for the 40th anniversary of the German Vogue on Friday evening in the KaDeWe.
Speaking of Vogue and KaDeWe:
As you may have heard, there will be no BERLINER SALON (or Berlin Fashion Salon) this season. Probably the donors have said goodbye. I liked it very much: good designers in historical surroundings (like the Kronprinzenpalais with its beautiful garden). I will miss the Berlin Salon.
What remains is the VOGUE SALON, initiated and directed by VOGUE boss Christiane Arp. In the earlier years, the Berlin Salon and the Vogue Salon were always together at one location, this time Christiane Arp had to look for something for herself.
And guess what, Christiane Arp found our most famous department store in Berlin, the KaDeWe.
In addition to 19 former Vogue-Salon participants, including William Fan, Marina Hörmanseder, Nobi Talai, David Tomaszewski and Horror Vacui, the new designers Lara Krude, Julia Leifert and Lydia Maurer (Phylyda) present excerpts from their collections.
And there is another innovation: The presentation is not only intended for professionals, but anyone „ordinary“ who is interested and would like to visit the KaDeWe is welcome. Well, if that’s not democratic! Even the common people may be there …
