Nach der Gastronomie und den Theatern kommen jetzt die Opernhäuser und das Staatsballett mit tollen Premieren LIVE und INDOOR!

13. Juni 2021. Premiere von „LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST“ (Das Mädchen aus dem goldenen Westen) von Giacomo Puccini.
Diese späte Oper des italienischen Komponisten Giacomo Puccini, dessen berühmtestes Werk sicher „La Bohème“ ist, spielt Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts in Kalifornien zur Zeit des Goldrausches. Die tägliche Brutalität und Gewalt der rauhen Goldgräber hört nur dann auf, wenn sie die Bar „Polka“ betreten, die von der Wirtin Minnie geführt wird. Alle respektieren sie. Als aber eines Tages der Bandit Johnson in das Dorf kommt und sich Minnie in ihn verliebt, eskaliert die Situation. Uraufführung war am 10. Dezember 1910 in der Met Opera in New York mit Caruso als Johnson, am Pult stand kein Geringerer als Toscanini.

Eine Besonderheit hat sich die Staatsoper ausgedacht: Da wegen der Corona-Pandemie nur gut 1/3 der sonst üblichen Zuschauer in den Zuschauerraum der Staatsoper dürfen, wird gleichzeitig open air auf dem Rollfeld des Tempelhofer Flugfeldes auf einer riesigen Leinwand die Premiere direkt übertragen – genannt „Pop-Up-Auto-Kino“. Eine geniale Idee, wie ich finde.

20. und 26. Juni 2021. „DER FREISCHÜTZ“ von Carl Maria von Weber. Konzertante Aufführung der romantischen Oper. Der Vorverkauf beginnt am 1. Juni um 12.00 Uhr mittags. Die Aufführung geht auf die Inszenierung von 2015 von Michael Thalheimer zurück

4., 5. Und 6. Juni 2021. JAZZ auf dem Parkdeck. Die Big Band der Deutschen Oper spielt eine Komposition von Manfred Honetschläger. Dazu spricht John von Düffel einen eigenen Text, frei nach dem Roman „Herz der Finsternis“ von Joseph Conrad.
8., 9., 10 und 11. Juni 2012. Uraufführung von „THE MAKING OF BLOND“ in der Tischlerei.
Mit THE MAKING OF BLOND hinterfragen die Theater- und Medienmacher*innen von Chez Company gemeinsam mit Mitgliedern der Ensembles der Deutschen Oper Berlin Rollen und Bilder von Held*innen in der Oper und kreuzen diese mit ihrer Lebensrealität. So kommen sie zu der Frage, was eine Figur und eine Rolle heute bedeutet für die Konstruktion von Identitäten, wie es Ausdruck ist von Machtverhältnissen und was es über das Verhältnis der Geschlechter besagt – auf, hinter und abseits der Opernbühne.
11. und 13. Juni 2021. „BEST OF – DON CARLO“.
Ein Abend mit den Höhepunkten von Arien und Duetten der berühmten Oper von Verdi. In der Moderation von Ulrich Matthes (Deutsches Theater Berlin) spielt das Orchester der Deutschen Oper unter dem Dirigat von Donald Runnicles. Es singt u.a. Dinara Alieva die Elisabeth von Valois.
12. Juni 2021. Premiere von „DAS RHEINGOLD“ von Richard Wagner
In der Regie von Stefan Herheim kommt das berühmte Opernwerk in einer Neuinszenierung. Mit Derek Welton (Wotan), Thomas Lehman (Donner), Thomas Blondelle (Loge), Markus Brück (Alberich), Annika Schlicht (Fricka), Judith Kutasi (Erda) und vielen anderen. Die musikalische Leitung hat wie immer Sir Donald Runnicles. Auch am 15. Juni 2021.
Weiter im Programm bis Ende Juni: ein „BEST OF – LA FORZA DEL DESTINO“ von Verdi und „BEETHOVEN – EIN LEBEN“ auf dem Pardeck.

STAATSBALLETT BERLIN
Nach monatelanger Pause darf auch das Staatsballett wieder in der Deutschen Oper vor Publikum auftreten. Nach „From Berlin with Love“ I und II kommt jetzt „FROM BERLIN WITH LOVE IV“
Am 5., 6. und 23. Juni 2021 tanzen die Solisten und das Ensemble eine Zusammenstellung mit acht früheren Choreographien. Allen voran das überragende „HALF LIFE“ von Sharon Eayal, welches regelmäßig das Publikum begeistert, sowie mein geliebtes „EIN SOMMERNACHTSTRAUM“ von Heinz Spoerli mit der Musik von Phlipp Glas. Auch „GRAND PAS CLASSIQUE“ mit Superstar Daniil Simkin wird sicher ein Hingucker, sowie das Duett der beiden Solotänzerinnen Ekisa Carrillo Cabrera und Yolanda Correa. Alles andere sind Überraschungen – sicherlich gute!

6. Juni 2021. Premiere von „<DER ZIGEUNER>BARON“ von Johann Strauss.
Endlich kann die wegen der Corona-Pandemie immer wieder verschobene Premiere stattfinden. Regie führt Tobias Kratzer, der schon 2017 mit der provokanten Inszenierung von „Zoroastre“ von Rameau dem Berliner Publikum auffiel.
„Der Zigeunerbaron“ von Strauss ist ein Stück über die Ausgrenzung von Minderheiten, deren Mitglieder aber wichtig sind für die ganze Gemeinschaft.
Ein hochaktuelles Thema.
Unter der musikalischen Leitung von Operettenspezialist Stefan Soltész singen Thomas Blondelle, Dominik Köninger, Mirka Wagner (im Wechsel mit Nadja Mchantaf), Helene Schneiderman, Alma Sadé und Philipp Meierhöfer.

June13th, 2021 Premiere of “LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST” (The Girl from the Golden West) by Giacomo Puccini.
This late opera by the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, whose most famous work is undoubtedly “La Bohème”, is set in the middle of the 19th century in California at the time of the gold rush. The daily brutality and violence of the rough gold diggers only stop when they enter the “Polka” bar, which is run by the landlady Minnie. Everyone respects them. But when one day the bandit Johnson comes to the village and Minnie falls in love with him, the situation escalates.
It premiered on December 10, 1910 at the Met Opera in New York with Caruso as Johnson, with none other than Toscanini at the podium.
Further performances on June 13, 16, 19, 24, 27 and July 3, 2021.

The State Opera has come up with a special feature:
Because of the corona pandemic, only a good 1/3 of the otherwise usual spectators are allowed into the State Opera auditorium, the premiere is simultaneously broadcast on a huge screen on the airfield of the Tempelhof airfield „Pop-up car cinema“.
I think it’s a brilliant idea.

The Big Band of the Deutsche Oper plays a composition by Manfred Honetschläger. In addition, John von Düffel speaks his own text, loosely based on the novel „Heart of Darkness“ by Joseph Conrad.
June 8, 9, 10 and 11, 2012. World premiere of “THE MAKING OF BLOND”.
With THE MAKING OF BLOND, the theater and media makers from Chez Company, together with members of the ensembles of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, question roles and images of Heroes in the opera and cross them with the reality of their lives. So they come to the question of what a figure and a role mean today for the construction of identities, how it is an expression of power relations and what it says about the relationship between the sexes – on, behind and off the opera stage.
June 11th and 13th, 2021. „BEST OF – DON CARLO“.
An evening with the highlights of arias and duets from Verdi’s famous opera. The orchestra of the Deutsche Oper will be moderated by Ulrich Matthes (Deutsches Theater Berlin) and conducted by Donald Runnicles. Among others, Dinara Alieva sings Elisabeth von Valois.
June 12, 2021. Premiere of “DAS RHEINGOLD” by Richard Wagner, directed by Stefan Herheim, the famous opera is staged in a new production.

STAATSBALLETT BERLIN
After a long break, the State Ballet is again allowed to perform in front of an audience at the Deutsche Oper.
After “From Berlin with Love” I and II, there is now “FROM BERLIN WITH LOVE IV”.
On June 5, 6 and 23, 2021 the soloists and the ensemble will dance a compilation of eight previous choreographies.
Above all the outstanding “HALF LIFE” by Sharon Eayal, which regularly delights the audience, as well as my beloved “A SUMMER NIGHT DREAM” by Heinz Spoerli with the music by Phlipp Glas. “GRAND PAS CLASSIQUE” with superstar Daniil Simkin is sure to be an eye-catcher, as well as the duet by the two solo dancers Ekisa Carrillo Cabrera and Yolanda Correa. Everything else is a surprise – certainly good ones!

June 6, 2021. Premiere of „<DER ZIGEUNER> BARON“ by Johann Strauss.
The premiere, which has been postponed again and again due to the corona pandemic, can finally take place. The director is Tobias Kratzer, who already caught the eye of the Berlin audience in 2017 with the provocative staging of „Zoroastre“ by Rameau.
„The Gypsy Baron“ by Strauss is a play about the exclusion of minorities, whose members are nevertheless important for the whole community.
A very topical topic.
With: Thomas Blondelle, Dominik Köninger, Mirka Wagner (alternating with Nadja Mchantaf), Helene Schneiderman, Alma Sadé and Philipp Meierhöfer will sing under the musical direction of operetta specialist Stefan Soltész. Further performances on June 26th and 28th, as well as on July 1st, 2021.
June 13, 2021. Premiere of “MONDNACHT”.
The choir soloists of the Komische Oper sing songs by Robert Schumann accompanied by the orchestra of the Komische Oper.
