Als Lordes Debütsingle „Royals“ 2013 ihren Siegeszug einläutete, war die Neuseeländerin noch nicht mal volljährig und dennoch aus dem Stand ein Popstar, dem man alles zutraute.
Ihr Album „Pure Heroine“ zeigte wenig später, dass man mit der Einschätzung goldrichtig lag. Lordes kühler Popentwurf, ihre Ausnahmestimme und ihre geheimnisvolle Aura begeisterten auf der ganzen Welt, ohne dass man ihr oder ihrem Sound vorwerfen könnte, sich anzubiedern.
Im Juni wird Lorde nun ihr zweites Album „Melodrama“ veröffentlichen. Und schon wieder scheint es, als würde sie alles richtig machen: Die Vorabsingle „Green Light“ ist ein Hit, der dennoch auf clevere Weise mit dem Radioeinheitsbrei bricht. Die Ballade „Liability“ wiederum, die kurz darauf folgte, braucht nur Stimme, Klavierspiel und starke Zeilen wie diese: „The truth is I am a toy that people enjoy, ‚til all of the tricks don’t work anymore, and then they are bored of me.“
Man darf davon ausgehen, dass „Melodrama“ alles andere als langweilen wird – im Gegenteil: Es wird den Wunsch verstärken, diese große Künstlerin einmal live zu sehen.
Liam Gallagher
William John Paul „Liam“ Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis, and later served as the singer of Beady Eye before performing as a solo artist after the dissolution of both bands.[1][2] His erratic behaviour, distinctive singing style, and abrasive attitude have been the subject of commentary in the press; he remains one of the most recognisable figures in modern British music.
Although his older brother Noel wrote the majority of Oasis‘ songs, Liam penned the singles „Songbird“ and „I’m Outta Time“, along with a string of album tracks and B-sides. Noel departed Oasis in 2009 and formed Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, while Liam continued with the other former members of Oasis under the Beady Eye name until they disbanded in 2014. His debut solo album As You Were was released 6 October 2017.
